Mao Xie "Hairy Crab" Oolong

Mao Xie, also known as “Hairy Crab,” is a traditional Anxi oolong from Fujian Province, recognized for the fine, downy hairs on its leaves that may appear on the surface when brewed. Grown throughout the Anxi region, this tea offers a distinct character within the oolong family.

It produces a smooth, slightly thicker cup with a naturally sweet profile, offering a more rounded and mellow experience compared to more floral oolongs like Tie Guan Yin. The result is a balanced, approachable tea with a soft texture and gentle depth.

Steeping Instructions:

• 8 oz water
• 1 teaspoon
• 180°F
• Steep for 2–4 minutes
• Re-infuse for additional cups
